Ronald McDonald House Scranton

With over 40 years of service to the Northeastern Pennsylvania area, we are honored to offer families a place to sleep, eat and relax while their children receive medical treatment at one of the area’s nearby medical facilities. The Ronald McDonald House Scranton provides a restful, comfortable place for families to sleep, creating a “Home Away from Home” for families of seriously ill children.

Creating a “Home Away from Home” for Families

Private Bedrooms – Up to 4 people may stay in a room at the House. All bedrooms have comfortable beds with roll out beds available. All bedrooms have their own private bathroom as well. Three large suite rooms and four handicap accessible rooms are available.

Transportation – In many cases, transportation to and from the hospital may be difficult for families to navigate. In those instances, we may provide a voucher for families to alleviate some of the stress of finding a way back and forth.

Laundry Facilities – Residents may take advantage of our fully stocked laundry room.

Staying Connected – Wireless internet access is available throughout the House.

Community Areas –  At Ronald McDonald House, we understand that when your child is facing a medical challenge, comfort and togetherness mean everything. Our community spaces are designed to bring a touch of joy and relief during difficult times.

Families can relax in beautifully designed lounges with plush, cozy seating and large-screen TVs. Kids and their siblings can unwind with interactive games, virtual reality experiences, and engaging activities—all created to offer moments of fun and distraction.

Here, you’ll find a welcoming environment that keeps you close, comfortable, and supported—because no family should face a medical journey alone.

Ronald McDonald House Family Room Program

The Ronald McDonald House Family Room is a dedicated space located inside a medical facility serving pediatric patients, created to give families a place of comfort, rest, and support just steps away from their child’s care. Designed to feel warm and welcoming, the Family Room provides a quiet retreat from the stress and intensity of the hospital environment while allowing parents to remain close at all times.

With comfortable furnishings, peaceful surroundings, and the simple comforts of home, the Family Room offers families a place to sit, rest, share a meal, or take a moment to breathe without ever leaving the facility. During some of the most difficult days a family can face, this space provides reassurance, strength, and the ability to stay together while their child receives treatment.

Help Keep Families Close

Research shows that a family presence in the hospital helps children cope better. Staying close by allows parents to better communicate with their child’s medical team and improves adherence to complicated treatment plans. You can make a difference for these families with your donation today.

At Allied Services Pediatrics

We recently completed an incredible new construction project with the opening of a brand-new Ronald McDonald House Family Room at the John Moses Pediatric Center at Allied Services. The new space features comfortable, stylish furnishings, private areas for rest, and all the comforts of home, allowing families to remain close to their child while receiving care. Every detail was created with the goal of making sure parents and caregivers have a place where they can find strength, comfort, and support without leaving the side of their child.
