When a child is receiving medical care far from home, families face more than just medical challenges. They face long days at the hospital, emotional stress, financial pressure, and time away from the comforts of home and support systems they rely on most.
At Ronald McDonald House of Scranton, our mission is to provide comfort, care, and support to families with seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment in the Scranton area and beyond.
We believe families heal better together. By keeping parents, caregivers, and siblings close to one another and close to the medical care their child needs, we help reduce stress and create a sense of stability during an incredibly difficult time.
Research continues to show that supporting the entire family can improve outcomes for children and help families better cope with the challenges of pediatric medical care.

With over 40 years of service to the Northeastern Pennsylvania area, we are honored to offer families a place to sleep, eat and relax while their children receive medical treatment at one of the area’s nearby medical facilities. The Ronald McDonald House Scranton provides a restful, comfortable place for families to sleep, creating a “Home Away from Home” for families of seriously ill children.
